Characteristics: Easily soluble in water and ethanol. The aqueous solution is neutral (pH about 6–9, 5% solution). Gradually turns yellow when exposed to air due to oxidation to iodine.
Recommended Use: Used in the preparation of iodides and other iodine-containing compounds. Applied as a nutritional additive (iodized salt) and in pharmaceutical products. Also used in photographic chemicals, analytical reagents, and laboratory applications.
Note: Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Avoid contact with oxidizing agents, acids, or metal salts. Wear protective gloves and goggles during handling; avoid prolonged inhalation or contact.
